A quanto pare, a spingere il gabonese a quel tipo di gesto è stata la Nike, sponsor tecnico del calciatore. Un episodio che Hans-Joachim Watzke, direttore sportivo del club giallonero, fatica a digerire: "Non è possibile che facciamo gli interessi economici della Nike. Noi siamo Puma. Un comportamento del genere è inaccettabile da parte di una grande azienda come la loro". Così il giocatore scuola Milan rischia una multa salata da parte della società tedesca: in Germania si vocifera di una possibile sanzione da 50 mila euro.
